At OHC Healthcare Solutions, we are passionate healthcare professionals who elevate lab outreach for our partners with a turnkey solution for hospitals, physicians, and patients by connecting excess lab capacity with in-office phlebotomy and best-in-class reporting. Seventy percent of all medical decisions are based on lab results, yet most physicians are not satisfied with the laboratories they currently use.

In today’s lab market, there is a growing demand for better service, increased reporting and more convenience for patients to ensure continuity of care. Good service and great lab reporting are lacking from the large, “big box” labs, thus providing a perfect opportunity for hospitals to partner with OHC to bring competitive offerings to their community.
labelFOCUS ON IN-HOUSE SERVICES
As OHC does not own a lab, we focus solely on our hospital partner’s current service offerings. We review the hospital’s current lab capabilities and stay within those parameters and will never introduce a service that our partners cannot run in-house. Most of the time, these peripheral services could include toxicology and pharmacogenetic (DNA) testing, which we believe have been over utilized and often lack medical necessity. We do not send samples from outside labs for hospitals to bill as pass-through, as that model is not accepted by the payors and has been proven to be short lived.
labelSUSTAINABILITY AND COMPLIANCE
In order to provide long-term sustainability for our partners, OHC will work with the existing service area of the hospital, which is widely approved and accepted by the payors. In addition, each Managed Care Agreement is reviewed, in great detail, to ensure compliance and adoption. The OHC model is centered around compliance and is backed by well over 100 years of combined experience. We constantly monitor the entire process from beginning to end to ensure compliance is met on every level. Due to this program being centered around the hospital, OHC and the hospital is able to jointly market directly to the hospital’s current physician roster. This allows our hospitals the ability to accept all payors, including Federal.

Many hospitals provide limited outreach lab services to doctors and nursing homes in their community, but they are finding they struggle to compete with the big labs because of shortcomings in their software, EMR integration and reporting capabilities. OHC has developed innovative and truly unique lab reporting software, OPSES™, enabling our hospital partners to deliver comprehensive and meaningful lab results to patients and physicians. Our software provides EMR integration capabilities to clinicians because it is a must-have in today’s medical practices. This capability and our advancement in reporting differentiate our hospital partners from even the biggest labs in the industry.

Our collective program does not, and will not, compensate providers for their lab services. Because of this firm stance, OHC has centered our entire provider focus around increasing the provider’s overall customer service as it relates to our lab programs. OHC will integrate our technology platform, OPSES™, directly into each provider’s Electronic Health Record (EHR), turn-key all supplies, training and logistics and lastly, provide a direct conduit to the hospital’s Lab Medical Director, should a provider need to discuss patient-specific results.

OHC has created our own proprietary technology platform, OPSES™. OPSES™ is a fully-integrated technology platform which, once connected to our hospital partner’s Health Information System, connects directly to each provider’s EHR enabling them to order and access tests, view real-time results, check insurance eligibility and validate medical necessity against the Correct Coding Initiative’s database. OPSES™ utilizes barcode and scanning technology, which automates the process of tracking samples from the point of care through the entire resulting and reconciliation process. Due to OPSES™ flexibility and connectivity, we have fully integrated our system into our Revenue Cycle Management and Accounting platforms, further amplifying transparency and increased reconciliation.
